Having received religious education in his secondary education, Erasmus never traditionally became a priesthood due to his interest in science and the arts, although he received a religious education. not hesitate to criticize what he thought was wrong, Erasmus also never hesitated to criticize the papacy and the church. In his book Praise of Folly, Erasmus, who opposed all forms of bigotry, also ruthlessly criticized the church, the clergy and bigotry.
